The Air Gates of Russia (AGR) Award is called to identify most effective and stable Russian airports, building their positive image and reputation in society. The Award’s Expert Board includes representatives of leading national airlines, heads of industry associations and leading industry journalists.
This year the Airports of Regions holding running the international airports Koltsovo, Kutumoch, Strigino, Platov and Gagarin has been awarded 8 AGR prizes, which is a record-breaking and remarkable achievement for the company.
Construction on a new international airport in the city of Saratov is the biggest infrastructure project of Russian civil aviation in 2019. The project was delivered as part of the public-private partnership involving the Russian government, Saratov Region government and Airports of Regions Management Company. Gagarin started receiving aircrafts on 20 August 2019 and for less than half a year of operations it deserved accolades from the Expert Board of the Air Gates of Russia Award. The infrastructure of Gagarin airport built from the ground up enables ample services to be provided for modern comfortable aircrafts from the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 families; this lures new airlines and expands the geography of flights.
